Heaven has gained an angel, and we have lost a precious friend. Donald Lee Revis, 87, passed away Tuesday, June 8 in his home. Donald was the son of Cubern Leo & Winnie Fern, who preceded him in death. Donald had a special bond with his grandmother, Lucy, who he was looking forward to seeing again in Heaven. Donald is survived by his brother, Gary; one aunt and several cousins.
Donald proudly resided in Springfield, Missouri his entire life, graduating from Central High School. Donald was also proud to have worked at Penny Power and then at Drury College, where he was a Security Guard for several years. Donald was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship from previous years of attending. Donald was a professed Christian and had a strong faith in God.
Donald was known by many in his neighborhood. He was well respected and well liked by those who knew him. People commented often on what a wonderful man he was. His sense of humor and his perspective on life was a joy to hear. Whether he was out walking, eating at one of his favorite restaurants or visiting neighborhood businesses, he was known for his friendliness, positive attitude and his genuine smile. He had love in his heart for everyone, he was kind, and he never knew a stranger.
Donald enjoyed listening to big band music on his record player, and watching St. Louis Cardinals while eating his favorite meal, chili. His furry best friend, Sparky, was always by his side. Donald especially enjoyed his friendship with his friend, Mike, and always looked forward to his visits.
Donald, thank you for being you. You taught us so much. May you rest in peace and know you are loved and will be missed by friends and family. See you again, someday.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Charles Jackson officiating.
