Donna Mae Megown, age 94, passed away on October 2, 2018. She was born in January 25, 1924 in Maryville, Missouri to her parents, Floyd Deacon Cook and Ethel Hope Wampler. Donna had 4 sisters and 1 brother whom all preceded her in death, Doris Rutledge 1912-1994, Elsie Jaquay 1916-1998, Mary Cooper 1918-1968, Rosa Jones 1926-2016, Robert (Bob) Cook 1920-1995. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Megown.
Donna had 2 children, Larry Christwell whom preceded her in death and Diane Lansdown who cared for Donna to her last day of life with us, a step-son Kenneth Megown, six nieces, seven nephews, and a host of grandchildren.
Donna worked hard all of her life, spending many years at J.C. Penney’s until her retirement. She was a good Christian woman. Kenneth Megown was the love of her life and it broke her heath when Kenneth passed away but was blessed with her daughter Diane and stepson Ken who always help her through her tough times. Donna Mae was a great role model for the family, loving her family and leaving them so many wonderful memories.
Funeral services for Donna will be at 11:00 am, Monday, October 8, 2018 with burial in Maple Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am in the funeral home. Donna was ready to go to Heaven and be reunited with loved ones who have passed before her. Although it is hard to let her go, we rejoice that she is with our Lord
