Dorothea “Dottie” Rose Alsup went into the open arms of her Savior on November 13, at the age of 66 years. She was born December 21, 1953 in Bridgeton, New Jersey to Geneva and Norton Mathers. Dorothea married Mark Lewis Alsup in Willow Springs on May 20, 1978. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Dorothea was a loving wife, homemaker and mother. She worked many years at Assembly of God headquarters in Springfield, Missouri. Dorothea was a member of Grace Church and her faith and love of God was evident in her daily life.
She is survived by her husband Mark Alsup of Springfield, Mo., two children: Master Sergeant Robert Alsup his wife Megan of Mascoutah, Ill. Christopher Alsup and wife Brittany of Cape Fair, Mo., seven grandchildren, Kaedyn, Kylie, Hannah, Trevor, Bradley, Tristan, and Heather, two sisters Genevieve Jackway of Springfield Mo., and Betty Hackett of Millville, NJ.
Services for Dorothea will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 18 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with the visitation prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Maple Park Cemetery following the service.
