Dorothy Jane Franks died from natural causes on November 20, 2018. She was born on April 2, 1920 to Blanche and Leo Curry in Topeka, Kansas and was married to Edgar LeRoy Franks for over 50 years. Together they formed Midwest Electric Company where Dorothy worked in the office and managed the books. She was a member of College Street Baptist Church throughout her life, she was an avid antique collector and rose gardener and she was a familiar presence working in her flower garden or sitting on the front porch visiting with neighbors. She is survived by two sons; attorney Richard L. Franks of Denver, Colorado and clinical psychologist Dr. Kent W. Franks of Springfield, and three grandchildren; Ryan Curry Franks, Melody Jane Franks and Samantha Angelica Franks. The family extends its most heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Nixa Nursing and Rehabilitation for the care and support they provided to Dorothy over the last several years.
Dorothy will have graveside services on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 12:00 pm noon in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
