Douglas James “D.J.” McDonald, age 30, passed away on February 25, 2016 in St. Louis, MO. He was born on May 6, 1985 in Springfield, MO. D.J. attended school K-8 in Cabool, MO then attended and graduated from Marshfield High School. He attended Evangel College for a brief time after graduating high school. D.J. was the Commissary Manager for Centec Group, he attended Cabool Christian Church and Hillside Christian Church. He loved making jewelry, doing home renovations and traveling to Florida. D.J. was a loyal, caring and thoughtful son, brother and friend with a huge heart and he smiled all the time. He loved to visit Florida. His sister described him as bold and brave. We will miss him unspeakably, he is gone to soon.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, James Speake, his grandparents, Lee and Fern McDonald, cousin Claire Speake, aunt Evelyn Johnson and an uncle. D.J. is survived by his father, Roger McDonald, his mother, Debra Ankiewicz, his brother, Adam McDonald, his sister, Coral Sarracino and her husband Manny, his grandmother, Delores Speake, his nephew, Justin Sutton, his cousins, Charles, James, Eddie, Israel Speake, Marie Cooper, Amanda Handy, and Cindy, aunt Melody Bloxsom and uncles Wesley, Mark and Eric Speake, along with his best friend, Loretta Fincher and other friends Linda, Brandy, Jessica and Gidget.
Memorial services will be on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 2:00 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Visitation will be on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, in Greenlawn Funeral Home East.

I am very sorry for your family’s loss. Prayers for comfort and peace for you all.

It’s heartbreaking to hear of D.J.’s passing. He was a great guy, who was a friend to all. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Dj was such a sweet guy. We went to school together in Cabool and no matter how much time passed between visits he treated me like we talked every day. Praying for the entire family and his friends.

I remember D.J. as a 6th grader…and yes, like others, it was his smile and sweet disposition. Prayers for the family and friends…for comfort and strength,,Psalm 29:11 “The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.”

DJ, was my best guy friend in high school. We have so many wonderful – fun memories that we have shared together. You made me laugh, your smile always brought a smile to my face, and you never judged me. I loved you then my dear friend, and I love you know and always. You will be missed by so many, and truly you touched everyone you met. Your influence continues on, and one day again we will get to share a big hug. I will see that beautiful smile again. DJ, forever in my heart. Gone, but not forgotten. May peace come to your family. Love and condolences to all.

My thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of DJ.. I will never forgot the fun times we had. There is one time we hung and I will never forget it.. Started at Bar PM, then to JJ’s, then we stop at Uncle Bills for a bit to eat, and you eat pancakes with your fingers. I love you and miss you and that smile..

I was so sorry to hear of D.J.’s passing. I still think of him as that cute little kid running around my grandmothers house during family gatherings. My love and prayers for his family and friends.

I wanted to express my sincerest prayers and condolences to D J’s family and friends. He was an amazing young man and I cannot believe he is gone. Every time I spoke with D J or hung out with him, he was smiling and laughing and that I what I want to remember most about him. I wish Chad and I could be there this weekend for the services, but cannot make it due to a prior obligation. We will be participating in the memorial here in St Louis, I believe it is on Saturday March 12th. Now I have a special angel looking out for me.

Dearest D.J. I will miss you so much!! To all the family of D.J he was such a nice and kind person I met him back in 2007 at rumors and he excepted me right in no Judging me at all!! He was such a Funny and kind person and I will always remember him because of it!! I am so sorry, You all are in my Prayers!!!

Thoughts and prayers for his family. DJ was a kind and sweet soul. He always had a smile on his face. I had the honor of teaching him at Marshfield, and his sister Coral at Cabool. Sweet & loving family. Rest in peace, DJ.
