Duane Edward Robinett 83, Springfield, Mo. passed away Monday, January 14, 2019, after a long illness. He was born on May 1, 1935, in Ash Grove, Mo. to Orland and Dorothy Fae (Sewell) Robinett. He was a retired mechanic for the Postal Service after 21 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and a member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church. Duane loved square dancing and was a member of the Ozark Camper Dancers. He loved to play golf when he had the chance. He also loved to make people laugh, especially his family. He also loved to spend his winters in Texas.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, two step-daughters: Sandy Widman and Sheila Newkirk, a grand-daughter: Jamie Newkirk and a sister Corine McCrosky. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Mills) Robinett, of the home, a step-son: George Widman, two grandchildren: Katie and Nadina, and five great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2019, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon to 1:00 p.m. before services in the funeral home.
