Dynes Shoemaker, age 70, of Willard, Missouri, passed away on August 18, 2020, at home with his loving wife, Mary, and family by his side. Dynes passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 4, 1949, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to the parents of HR and Louise Shoemaker. Dynes was raised in Springfield, Missouri where he went on to graduate from Glendale High School. In 1969, he entered the navy and was stationed in Rhode Island. He went on to become an independent contractor before landing at Paul Mueller Company where he worked for thirty years and retired, leaving an impression there on all that knew him.
Dynes was an avid ford man, who loved taking his mustang out for a cruise. He loved spending time with his family. He was always the first call his family made when needing a hand or advice. Whether it was helping someone fix their car or helping with home improvement projects, he was always there.
Dynes is survived by his wife of fifty years, Mary; his son, Bill Shoemaker, his daughter, Marisa Latimer and her husband Brian, his daughter, Christina Hansen and her husband Greg. Dynes, “Papa,” loved and adored his six grandchildren; Rylie Shoemaker, Clay and Mason Latimer, Avery, Havic, and Tinley Hansen. He is also survived by his two sisters Colleen Lawrence and Ruthanne Ewing; as well as four sister in laws and many nieces and nephews. And we will all remember his words: “It’ll feel better when it quits hurtin”.
