E. Fayrene Mattox, 85
Mrs. Mattox, 85, was received into God’s loving arms on October 20, 2016, where she resided in the Lakewood Assisted Living Community.
Fayrene was born on February 14, 1931, in Webster County Missouri to Roy Lee Latimer and Ethel Agnes Wheeler Latimer. Fayrene was born into a family with 3 siblings and 3 more to follow. Her humble home was located in a rural area and was filled with lots of love. She was and has been a “Special Valentine” to many.
Fayrene was a beautiful person inside and out. When she smiled, she would light up the room. She was not afraid to have fun and act silly with her grandchildren. When you entered her home, you always knew you would be well fed, loved much and always had access to a well stocked candy drawer. Fayrene was a master seamstress, gifted musician and loving pastor’s wife for many years. She truly cared about everyone who crossed her path and touched many lives along the way.
Mrs. Mattox is survived by her sister, Mary Peterson and two brothers David Latimer and Paul Latimer; 5 children, Jimma Jenkins, Violeta Martella, Clifford Mattox, Jay Mattox and Rene Green; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Mattox was preceded in death by her husband James Mattox; parents, Roy and Ethel Latimer; brothers, John Latimer and Roy Latimer; sister, Loyce Russell; and granddaughter, Allison Butler.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 am, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Greenlawn Funeral Home East, with burial in Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Victory Mission
