Eibert D Boeve, son of Dick and Jessie (VanderWolde) Boeve, was born August 27, 1934 in Rock Rapids, IA. Eibert was the first generation born in the US to Dick and Jessie, who were immigrants from the Netherlands. He grew up on a farm near Steen, MN. In August of 1959 he was united in marriage with Elsie Jean Teune. The first years of their marriage were spent farming near Beaver Creek, MN. They have resided in Sioux City, IA, Corpus Christi, TX, Lingleville, TX, and Springfield, MO where they have resided since 1985.
His career included Dayco Rubber Co., proprietor of Boeve’s Fix-It, coast-to-coast truck driver (received an award for One Million Accident-Free Miles), and finished his career driving Motor Coach.
Eibert had a passion for saving lives; he was devoted to donating blood with the Community Blood Bank and American Red Cross and an ambassador of the good news of Jesus Christ shed blood.
In retirement he enjoyed Southern Gospel Week at Silver Dollar City, spending time with his family through visits, phone calls, and facetime, introducing polka to his grandchildren, contributing to sharing the gospel of Christ through missions and Gideon Bibles, and many relaxing evenings watching Wheel-of-Fortune, Fox News, and Christian Programing. On his final day, his to-do-list written on his right palm (he never felt it was necessary to waste paper when his palm was “handy”) was the name of a new preacher he and Elsie were looking forward to watching together.
He is survived by his wife Elsie whom he shared a life with for 62 years. Surviving children include his daughter Darla (Jerry) Schwertfeger of Bloomington, IL, Richard (Kelly) Boeve of Lingleville, TX, Ruthann Kophca of Niskayuna, NY, and Jonathan (Amy) Boeve of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five sisters and one brother. Preceding him in death were his parents, daughter Eileen Faye, daughter Delrae Lynn, a granddaughter Elizabeth Faye, and a great-grandson Shannon.
