Ellen Cecilia (Oris) Gowins age 92, our precious beautiful mother passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on March 3, 2023 with her beloved daughter, Mary Ellen & son-in-law Robert Hansen by her side at home in Ozark, Missouri.

She lived a life full of love for family, friends and volunteering.  Her loving smile will be missed by many who knew her well.

She was born March 8, 1930 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the daughter of James Stephen Oris and Mary (Rolla) Oris of Alton, Illinois.

February 3, 1951 she married Clyde L. Gowins and he preceeded her in death in November 2003.  She was also preceeded in death by her parents, James Stephen and Mary (Rolla) Oris, and her brother, Robert Oris and his wife Mary Oris.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ellen Hansen and son-in-law Robert Hansen and grandson, Nicholas Allen Gartner and wife Terrah Gartner.  Two great grandsons and one great granddaughter living in Elburn, Illinois and one great  granddaughter in Montgomery, Illinois.

She will be placed with her husband in the memorial wall at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri on May 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM.

Arrangements and cremation is under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
