Ellen Skouby, 89, of Springfield, MO passed away on Saturday, Feb 27, 2021. She was born on October 1, 1931 in Walnut Grove, MO to Roy and Alma Lemmon and was a member of the Walnut Grove High School class of 1949. On January 20, 1967, Ellen and LaVerne Skouby were united in marriage and together they shared 43 years before LaVerne passed on March 10, 2011.
Ellen enjoyed spending time with her beloved Schnauzers, tending to her beautiful rose and vegetable gardens, feeding the neighborhood hummingbirds, and fishing with LaVerne at their cabin near Cape Fair, MO. She also enjoyed many years of working as a pharmacy technician.
Ellen is preceeded in death by LaVerne, her parents, Roy and Alma, and siblings Margie Kelly, Vernon Lemmon, and Mary Mays. She is survived by children Kenny Shuler and wife Sherry of Walnut Grove, MO, Brett Skouby and Wife Eilene of Lee’s Summit, MO, Carla Holder and husband Paul of Fountain, CO and Paula Turner and husband Tim of Birmingham, AL, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Larry Skouby and niece Anita Mays.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 3 from 1:00 until 2:30 at Greenlawn North Funeral Home, Springfield, MO with graveside services immediately following at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given in memory of Ellen to the Humane Society of the Ozarks, 3161 W Norton Road, Springfield, MO 65803.
