Obituary– Emma Korell
Emma Mae (Mullings) Korell was born on February 4, 1934 to George and Zola Mullings on a farm near Fair Grove and went to spend eternity with her Savior on February 25, 2015. She attended a one-room school house before moving to Pleasant Hope High School, and she graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a degree in Elementary Education. Her first job was teaching 3rd grade in an urban school in Denver, Colorado. While in Denver, Emma met Gordon Korell her beloved husband for 56 years. They moved back to Fair Grove in 1963 and purchased Emma’s grandparents’ farm – where she was born. They lived together on the farm for 50 years. Emma loved to plant, water and tend to flowers in her yard and to feed and watch birds. More than anything Emma loved Jesus and studying God’s Word. She also enjoyed telling children about Jesus. She created, hosted and wrote a television program called Aunt Emma’s Storytime that aired every Sunday morning for 17 years. Emma dearly loved her five granddaughters – Brittany Korell Heard and her husband Erik, Catherine Queen, Rebecca Queen Meyer and her husband Ben, Aleena Korell and Janine Korell. In addition to her grandchildren she is survived by her children, Jordon (J.W.) Korell and his wife Barbara, daughter Melinda Queen and her husband David and sister Carol Patteson and her husband Bill. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews and many other children and grandchildren that she loved as her own.
