Enola Baker, age 93, of Springfield passed away Monday, January 4th, 2021 at Jacob’s Ladder.
Enola was born April 30, 1927 in Long Lane, MO, to Floyd and Etha Gates. She was united in marriage to David Earl Baker, on May 23, 1946 in Kansas. Enola retired from General Electric, after her retirement, she worked for over 15 years at the Sunshine Wal Mart, as a door greeter. She enjoyed doing oil paintings. Enola was an active member of the First Freewill Baptist Church, West Nichols.
Survivors include her two loving sons, Larry Baker and Garry Baker and wife Nancy; four grandsons, Lance Baker, Jeremy Baker, Lewis Baker and wife Robbie, Shane Baker; three great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Baker, Cole Baker, Olivia Baker; one sister, Fay King; and a host of family and friends.
Enola was preceded in death by her loving husband, David Baker; parents, Floyd and Etha Gates; and one brother, Doyle Gates.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm, Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South . A celebration of Enola’s life will be held Monday, January 11th, 2021 at 11:30 am in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, with private burial to follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In memory of Enola, memorial contributions may be made to Jacob’s Ladder in care of the funeral home. Funeral services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
