“Pistol” Ermell Sherdell Ginger passed away on Thursday April 9, 2015. In his words, “It’s time. I’m ready.”
Pistol is survived by his daughters Sheryll Ginger Morris (Scott), Angela Ginger Scott (Kevin), Jennifer Ginger Beeson (Tim); his grandchildren Danielle Oswald (Chris), Timothy and Tyler Beeson, Nicholas and Amelia Montgomery; and his great-grandson Miles Oswald. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Irel Ann Ginger; his brothers and sisters, Tommy Ginger, Bill Ginger, Rose Perkins Wynn, Judy Davis, Paula Perkins St. Arnaud, Dwayne Perkins and Dean Perkins and many loved nieces and nephews.
Pistol was preceded in death by his parents Tom Ginger and Georgia Perkins; his sisters, Georgia Loss and Patty Hester; his brother, Buck Kane; and his partner of many years Charlene Roberts.
Pistol was a wild man, and lived up to his name! He lived a life of adventure, experience and made a lot of memories. He was stubborn and ornery, and spared no bank teller or Wal-Mart employee of his opinions. He never walked into a room that he didn’t know someone. He had a story for everyone and everything. He left this life knowing he was loved.
Please join us at a regularly scheduled Mass in honor of Dad’s memory on Saturday, April 18th at 4pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 N. Campbell Ave, Springfield, MO 65702. Afterwards, please join us for a get together of family and friends at Cedar’s Cafe on West Bypass (dad’s favorite place!).
