Ernie was the best neighbor i could have asked for! He was always considerate and helped out anytime no matter the time! From the time that we moved in he came over and gave us remodeling tips to the time that my tire popped and he came and put my spare on and found a replacement tire! This is just a couple examples but he was much more than just that. He truly was a godly man with a big heart! My heart goes out to the family and we shall see him again in heaven!

Ernie and Jerrol were the first neighbors to welcome us to our new neighborhood in Springfield. We had just moved to Springfield from California and we were surprised when a car just pulled up into our driveway and Ernie leaned out of the window and said "We just wanted to meet the people who bought this house." We always saw him working in the neighborhood and his infectious smile greeted us whenever we walked our dog near where he was. He came to pray with us when we were having a medical crisis even though he was battling cancer at the time. He will be missed. He sure was loved.

Jerol, You know how much we miss Ernie. Especially me. When I first met the two of you Ernie loved coming over to mow my yard so he could use my John Deer lawnmower. He would mow and even do the week eating. As I continued getting to know the two of you, it was so nice being your friends. After Cliff and I got married they became friends too! We loved Ernie and will be so happy when we see him in heaven. You have our continued prayers during this time. We love you!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

We send you our sincere condolences for the loss of this kind and thoughtful man. We got to know Ernie when he mowed in our neighborhood for Mary Lou Ernst and Chip and Sharon Miller. We enjoyed every minute we visited with him; he always made us laugh. He was genuine and caring and we will miss seeing him and chatting with him. We held him in high regard as a hard worker and a good human being.

Miss Jerrol, Thank you for all of the love & support that you and Ernie have given over the years. You both have been like parents to me and then accepted my wife like she was one of your kids as well. Ernie will be missed. Love you, Noland & Natasha

I remember playing at your house with all my cousins. Aunt Evelyn would babysit us and cook and clean. You were always at work lol you were funny and had a great personality. You loved your kids and all of your nieces. You and uncle Kenny always had us laughing. Such a great uncle and this is a big loss for your family. So watch over us and tell everyone up there hello for me. Especially if you see my mom. I love you uncle Ernie. You will be missed.
