Farris Dean Snowden of Blue Eye, Missouri went home to his Savior on October 17, 2020 at the age of 83.
He is survived by his children and their families: Charlotte Snowden of the home in Blue Eye, Missouri, Randy Snowden & wife Sue of Harrison, Arkansas, Dale Snowden & wife Laura of Gravette, Arkansas and Jeff Snowden & wife Velma of Lead Hill, Arkansas. He is also survived by his brothers; Donnie, Earl, Bill, Bobby and sisters, Jan Robbins, Rita Lawheed, Carolyn King, Brenda Rogers, Linda Cowan and Shirley Hunter. Farris was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Snowden, his parents Johnie & Velma Snowden, his brothers, Virgil, Lonnie, Allen & Kenny and one great grandson.
Farris was born on March 24, 1937 in Stone County, Missouri. After a brief courtship on September 6, 1958 Farris married his wife of 61 years Betty. They had four children, Randy, Charlotte, Dale and Jeff. He was PaPa to eight grandchildren; Mariah Snowden, Farris Snowden, Levi Freeman, Sarah Beth Levy, Liz Allen, Brett Snowden, Brooke Whitt and Kyle Snowden. He was great PaPa to Ashley & Madison Phifer, Dalley Allen, Keegan & Mason Levy, Natalia and Hayden Freeman, Benson Snowden, Eden & Ever Brown.
Farris gave his life to Jesus as an adult and joined Mt. Olivet Free Will Baptist Church on April 23, 1972. He enjoyed traveling out West to bear hunt in the mountains and many trips to Colorado to hunt with his brothers and their sons. Farris was an avid coon hunter and known nationwide for his hound training expertise. In April 2016 Farris was honored by Table Rock Sportsman Association for his contributions and support of the coon hunting association. His stories of places he had been and people he met will be missed by his family and his many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Blue Eye Cemetery with Rev. Dale Kessler, Pastor Jim Cantrell and John Redford officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 5:30 until 7:30 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
