In Memoriam: Gary Lippe
Gary Lippe, of Omaha, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, on November 17, 2023. At the time of his death, he was surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 21st at the Ridgeway Church of Christ in Harrison Arkansas, where Gary was a member. Visitation will begin at 10:00, followed by a memorial service at 11:00. Burial will be at the Omaha Methodist Cemetery.
At the heart of Gary’s world was his wife, Sherry. They married on November 23, 1968 and were inseparable. During their 55 years of marriage, they worked together as cattle and poultry farmers. While they spent most of their time on the farm, they also enjoyed traveling, often to their favorite– the Grand Tetons. Gary and Sherry demonstrated the true meaning of a lifelong partnership, and their bond serves as an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to witness it.
When not working on the farm, Gary could usually be found in the woods hunting or on the lake fishing. He also had a special relationship with each of his grandchildren and they enjoyed playing, laughing, and eating with their “Poppy.”
Gary is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ada Lippe, and brothers, Delbert and Sonny Lippe and sisters Alberta Journagan, Catherine Seabaugh, and Wanda Bowman.
He is survived by his wife Sherry and his sons Jamie (and Menda) Lippe of Naperville, IL and Nathan (and Cyla) Lippe of Omaha. He is also survived by his brothers Joe and Orville Lippe and a sister, Lorene Roberts. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tyler (Nikki and Everly), Jenna, Macy, and Seth Lippe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Gary lived a full life. He was a hard worker who cared for his family and the important people in his life. May he rest in peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all to cultivate love, sow compassion, and reap the harvest of a life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Omaha School “Eagle Closet” to help local children in need.
