Gary “Moon” Leming, 66, passed on the evening of October 10, 2009 while in his home. He was born to Fred and Velma Leming in Springfield, Mo. He lived his childhood in Norwood, Mo., moved to Mountain Grove and met Judy McCullough. They married in 1978. He worked as an insulator and asbestos worker and still remains apart of the union. He also became Deputy Sheriff of Wright County. They have one son, Rocky Neil Leming, born September 4, 1978. He is survived by son, Rocky, his spouse Wendy, and their daughter, Avalyn (Myrtle Beach. S.C.). His brother, Jerry Leming; and sister Wanda Jeffries (Springfield, Mo) and multiple nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Kathryn Blair; and beloved friend, Sandy Hicks. Service to be held at Greenlawn North on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Fordland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Avalyn Leming Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
