George E. Atkinson, age 40, of Buffalo, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015. He was born April 26, 1974, in Fort Scott, KS, to Robert and Mary Atkinson. George was united in marriage to Kim D. Potter on April 19, 2002 in Buffalo, Missouri. He was a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple and Pleasant Hope Masonic Lodge. George spent most of his life working as a welder. George enjoyed fishing, but his greatest love was spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Atkinson and a brother-in-law Curtis Potter. He is survived by his wife,Kim D, Atkinson, Buffalo, MO; one daughter,Taylor Atkinson, Buffalo, MO; Father and Mother in-law; Jim and Bertha Potter, Buffalo, MO; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, Springfield, MO with Mr. Gene Hill officiating. Burial will be held in High Prairie Cemetery, Fair Grove, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Hospice. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home East, Springfield, MO.
