George O. McAninch Jr. age 78 , of Springfield passed away Thursday, November 26th, 2020 at Cox Hospital South .
George was born June 4, 1942 in Louisville, KY, to George and Louisa McAninch. George was a veteran of the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Kay Deitert on April 8, 1964 in Oklahoma. George retired from Sweet Heart Cup after 32 years. He was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing golf, and loved showing his 1974 Camaro at car show, and spending time in Florida.
Survivors include his loving three daughters, Lisa McAninch, Georgeana Richardson and husband George, and Sabrina McAninch; three grandchildren, Andrew Gibbs and Maddie, Kelsey Richardson and husband Michael, Kyle Richardson and Tyler; two great grandchildren, Luna and Preston ( Ollie); two brothers Wilbur McAninch and wife Mary Lou, and John McAninch; one sister, Edna Grisham and husband Corky; sister-in-law, Shirley Schriber; brother-in-law, Kenneth Deitert; two fur babies, Cricket and Shelby; and many grandchildren by heart; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kay; parents, George and Louisa; father and mother- in-law, Kenneth and Goldie Deitert; one brother-in-law, Ricky Deitert; and one sister, Ella Linehan.

A celebration of George’s will be held Friday, December 11th, 2020 at 11:30am in Greenlawn Funeral Home South 441 West Battlefield Springfield, Missouri, with burial to follow at Springfield National Cemetery in Springfield , Missouri .
