Gloria Irene Jansen, age 84, of Springfield, MO, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. She was born June 6, 1931, in Leeman, WI, to Siert and May (Jones) Henrickson. She was united in marriage to Rev. Francis (Chuck) Jansen, Sr. on June 11, 2005. Gloria retired from Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. She was an animal lover and enjoyed knitting and crocheting, eating at Ziggy’s, and visiting with close friends. Her greatest love was taking care of her husband.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Rev. Francis (Chuck) Jansen, Sr.; parents Siert and May Henrickson; and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Lettaow, Shiocton WI; sister-in-law, Irene Henrickson, Clintonville, WI; three nieces: Carla Rae Rash, Little Suamico, WI, Delores Urban, Hales Corners, WI, and Lu Ann Proctor, Appleton, WI ; six step-children: Dr. Francis Jansen, Jr., Springfield, MO, Nancy Green, Houston, TX, Cindi Griffith, Collinsville, IL, Michele Jansen, Overland, MO, Peter Jansen, Glen Carbon, IL, and Andrew Jansen, Branson, MO; fifteen step-grandchildren; and a host of very special neighbors and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am, Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Mr. Hiram Rester officiating. Burial will be held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 10:30 -11:30 am on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
