Guyal “Guy” Kenneth Essary, 82, of Ozark, MO passed away July 14, 2016 at his home.
How do you describe someone when your heart is breaking – we began a list. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and loved his Country. His word meant something. People were more important than possessions and he lived that by always putting his family’s needs before his own. He was a humble Christian man – we would hear mother speak about something he had done to help someone – sometimes his time and effort/sometimes monetarily – but he never wanted anyone to know because you do it from your heart, not for accolades. He was a talented craftsman which is evident in the custom homes he built and the creations at Bass Pro Shops and Big Cedar Lodge. You show up early and you get the job done. He got the job done yesterday and was ready to put the mowers away when he passed. He committed himself to one woman for 64 years of marriage. He kicked colon cancer in the butt 17 years ago. He raised a special needs daughter who adores him. To us he was a real life Superman and we were privileged to call him husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. We already miss him beyond words.
Guy is survived by his wife of 64 years Aletta, a daughter Rhonda Essary, a son Ken Essary and wife Cindy, a daughter Brenda Essary and daughter Teresa Essary-Witt and husband Patrick. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jessica Essary-Babineau, Lauren Mills, Jordan Essary, Tori Cannefax, Abby Witt, Taylor Essary and his great grandchildren Harlan Wilson, Guyal Babineau and Saylor Mills.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, July 17, 2016 in the funeral home. See full obituary at greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
