Helen Maye Coday, age 70, of Springfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in her home. She was born July 10, 1945, in Springfield, MO, to Alfred and Eunice (Maupin) Travis. She graduated from Central High School. Helen was united in marriage to Jerry Coday on June 1, 1962. She retired from Walmart after many years in their Loss Prevention Dept. Helen enjoyed gardening and going to the casino. The greatest love of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband,Jerry Donald Coday; her parents, Alfred Roy Travis and Eunice May Rardin; and one sister, Dorothy Jenkins; one son-in-law, Troy Goins. She is survived by her companion , Little Black Dog; two daughters,Kimberly Goins and partner Jorge Rodriguez, Springfield, MO and Kelly Moore, Sprinfield, MO; three granddaughters, Tiffany Goins, Cortnie Goins, and Whitney and husband Rusty Collins; two great- grandchildren, who brought joy to her life, Skilynn and Malakai; one sister, Melba (Donnie) Thompson, Springfield; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Mr. Shawn Pearcy officiating. Burial will be held in Sparta I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Sparta, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
