Herbert Bewley, Junior, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
He was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on July 4, 1933 to Herbert and Edith Bewley. Junior served in the United States Army for two years during the Korean War . He married Joyce Faye Curtis on July 5, 1955. To this union one daughter Catherine was born.
Junior worked for various oil companies and early on was a plumbers helper. Junior loved his family dearly.
He loved being outdoors, loved to hunt and fish. He loved to watch football, Oklahoma University was his team!
Every year he planted a large garden and loved sharing the vegetables with his friends and neighbors. Junior had a big generous heart and would do anything for anybody. He loved people. When the weather was nice you could always find him sitting in the front yard talking to his friends and neighbors. Junior will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Junior is survived by his wife Joyce of Springfield, MO, daughter, Cathey Roten and husband Daren Roten of Ozark, MO; one grandchild, Alyssa Roten of Ozark, MO and one sister Shirley Bates of Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters, Jo, Ilene, Carol, Pat and Joyce.
Graveside services for Junior will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
