Howard Francis Misemer, age 81, of Springfield, MO, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Cox Medical Center South. He was born September 15, 1934, in Miller, MO, to Noel and Virgie Misemer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel Misemer and Virgie Lewis; step-father, Jimmy Lewis; two brothers, Gary and Danny Misemer; and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Kathleen Misemer, Springfield, MO; son, Don Misemer and wife Summar, and their children, Garrett and Kelly, Fair Grove, MO; step-sons, Josh Dillard and wife Stacey, and their daughter Vivian, Springfield and Brad Dillard and partner Lori Painter and children Keenan, Emma, and Aralynn, Morrisville, MO; sister, Mary Cain, Stockton, CA; brother, Roger Lewis, Fordland, MO; two Sisters-in-law, Mary Adams, Springfield and Gretchen Misemer, Walnut Grove, MO; and several nieces and nephews .
Howard served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a custodian for the Bois D’Arc elementary school for 23 years where he was loved by 100’s of students. For the next 9 years he was a contract courier. Then at the age of 74 he finally retired and looked forward to fishing and spending time at home. Howard was a kind, patient and very loving husband, father, and grandpa. We all loved him very much and are better for having him in our lives.
Graveside services will be held at 11: 00 am , Friday , July 1, 2016 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
