Hubert Cox, 88, died Easter morning, March 27, 2016, at Magnolia Square Nursing Center in Springfield.
Hubert was born in Everton, Missouri, the son of Robert and Mary Cox. He attended school in Abesville. Hubert was one of the original employees of O’Reilly Automotive when it was founded in 1957 and he retired from there in 1985.
Hubert married Frances Evans in 1951 and she survives him. He is also survived by 3 children: Connie Eck (Andy) & Gary Cox (Sherry), all of Springfield, and Ralph Cox (Antonia) of Brighton, Colorado. Hubert was the grandfather of 9: Daphne Werner, Fred Eck, Jeremy Eck, Brent Cox, all of Springfield; Kimberly Hartsock of Gladstone, MO; Kyle Cox of Lakewood, Colorado; Kara Wooderson of Nixa; and Samantha & Francisco Lopez of Brighton, Colorado. He also had 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, 3506 N National, Springfield. Funeral services will be at 10 am Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the funeral home.
