Hubert Lee Highfill, age 79, of Fair Grove, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, after a short illness. He was born May 5, 1936, in Polk County, MO, to Harvey and Erma (Lile) Highfill. He retired from Hudson Foods, after many years of service. Hubert was known as a great handyman, able to fix almost anything and willing to help anyone. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed finding the best bargain at the local auctions. He also enjoyed his time with his family, especially going to yard sales and music shows with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son; Eugene Highfill, two grandsons; Dustin Wright and Jesse Highfill, 3 sisters and 6 brothers. He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Willa May Highfill, his daughters; Wanda Wright (Rick), Rebecca Johnson (Randy), daughter-in-law; Ginny Highfill; his siblings; Jane Emory (Russ), Goldie Tummons, Reva Russell, Dale Highfill (Dianne), and Andy Highill, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 8 step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with Bro. Dwain Nimmo officiating. Burial will be held in Mt. Olive cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
