Imogene Kay (Chastain ) Walker, age 95, of Springfield passed away Saturday, August 11th, 2018 at The Maples .
Imogene was born January 1, 1923 in Christian County, MO to Gordon and Ida Chastain. She was a garduate of Clever High School. Imogene was united in marriage to James Edward Walker on February 28, 1942. Imogene was an avid quilter, beloved mother and grandmother. She loved being a homemaker, she took great pride in her house, working in the yard, and cooking for her family.
Survivors include her son James G Walker and wife Deborah; grandchildren Kim Lighty and husband Larry of Oklahoma and Kent Walker of Springfield; a great-grandson, Zachary Fenton of Kansas, and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband James E. Walker, and was the last survivor of nine siblings.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 17th, 2018 at 11:00 am in Maple Park Cemetery 300 W Grand St Springfield, Missouri 65807. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus.
