On Saturday, April 10, 2021, Jacob “Jake” Aaron Kepler, loving son to Kelly and Shawn Kepler, passed away at the age of 34.
Jake was born on February 16, 1987 in Springfield, Missouri where he lived his life. It is here where he thrived in his work environment and was dedicated to serve others in both his professional as well as personal life. He was known for his uncanny skills at fixing anything including electronics and cars and had a knack to negotiate any problem for family, friends and many times, total strangers. He had an innovative mind and a heart of gold that he used to serve others no matter what hour of the day. Jake loved spending time with his family and friends and loved cooking for them. He especially loved his dog and best friend, Maximus.
In the most recent years, Jake had made the decision and took action to pursue a relationship with and dedicate his life to the Lord.
Jake is survived by his parents Kelly and Shawn Kepler, his sister Dani Kepler and Keith Hardecke, sister and brother-in-law, Kayla and Derek Daniels, Grandmother Kay McClelland, Grandparents Gerald and Pam Kepler, his Uncle Richard J. McClelland, his Uncle Shane Kepler and wife Melissa Kepler, his Aunt Shellee (Kepler) Maginness and husband Rick Maginness and cousins Jacquelyn Kepler, Chance Maginness, Cole Kepler, Hannah Kepler, Bo Kepler and his Godmother, Aunt Susie Armstrong. Jake’s memory will live on in the upcoming birth of his first nephew coming in October.
Jake was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard A. McClelland, whom he admired and cherished.
Jake was known for his kind heart, sweet smile and his gift to make others laugh and feel good. He will be missed by his family and friends dearly.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at Greenlawn East Funeral Home. The visitation will be held at 1:00pm with the Service to follow at 2pm. Jake will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Greenlawn North Cemetery.
