Jalen Scott Goodwin was born in Springfield, Missouri on July 7, 1993 to Renee’ Goodwin and Bryon Applegate. He departed this life on January 6, 2016 at the age of 22. Jalen was an avid lover of sports, especially basketball and music. The love of his life is his daughter, Nevaeh Goodwin. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew, loved and cherished him.
He is survived by his daughter Nevaeh; mother Renee; father Bryon (Tiffany); brother Landon Applegate- Goodwin; sisters Cierra, Aramie, Jackie; grandmothers Joan Goodwin & Donna Atchison; grandfathers Eldridge (Dick) Goodwin and Jerry Applegate (Jo); Uncles, Rodrick Goodwin (Vivian), Richard Goodwin, Jeff Applegate (Kawana) & J. Todd Applegate (Lisa). He leaves behind numerous family and friends who all held a very special place in his heart.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation from 7-8 p.m.
