Janet Lee (Flaherty) Watson, 72, passed away at her home in Cabool, MO, on Tuesday, April 12, 2021.
The daughter of Charles Eugene (Gene) Flaherty and Norma Lee (Vinson) Flaherty, she was born on May 20, 1948, in Springfield, MO. She married her husband, Eddie Watson, on December 10, 1994.
Janet was a light and inspiration to all those she had the chance to cross paths with, always making the Lord a priority in her life. She valued her daily time in devotion, prayer, and reading scripture. Through her devotion to the Lord, Janet became involved at St. Paul United Methodist Church (presently the Downtown Church) in Springfield, MO, where she taught Sunday school and invested into children’s lives with her time and caring heart. She enjoyed people and was a talented salesperson. After raising her two children, she entered the retail food business and advanced with ConAgra Foods, retiring as a key account manager in 2002. She spent her days doing for others and enjoyed being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Watson, of Cabool, MO; her son, Shawn Callaway, and his wife, Laura (Odom) Callaway, of Portland, OR; her daughter, Holly Lee (Callaway) Rogers, and her husband, Charles Rogers, of Springfield, MO; grandson, Austin James Rogers, and his wife, Sydney Lynn (Frazier) Rogers; granddaughter, Katelyn Lee Rogers; her stepson, Shaun Watson and his wife, Kim (Williams) Watson, of Cabool, MO; granddaughters, Meagan Carder and Makalah Watson; and grandson, Westlee Watson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North from 11 AM to 1 PM with graveside service to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Downtown Church at www.thedowntown.church.
The family has requested masking and social distancing due to Covid regulations.
