Janice Charlene Winburn-West (72) of Hickory Flat, Mississippi went home to heaven on Tuesday, June 23rd to be with Jesus after a long hard battle with ovarian cancer. She is preceded in death by her father – Lawrence Wayne Winburn, her mother, Ruby Adeline Cox-Winburn, and her brother, Tommy Lynn Winburn.
Janice was born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in Hickory Flat. She moved to Lebanon, Missouri in 2009 and then to Springfield, Missouri in 2012 to be close to her family and friends.
She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends studying, teaching, and sharing the Word of the Lord.
Janice is survived by two daughters, Teresa Yvonne West-Nielson of Lebanon, Missouri and Kathy Lynn West-Bannister of Round Rock, Texas.
Five grandchildren (Jennifer Charlene West-Dryer, Dedrea Mechelle West, William Lesley West, Terrie Erwin Hall, and James Daniel Bannister).
Seven great-grandchildren (Taylor Janae’ Rust, Kloe Lynn Rust, Arissa Anne Rust, Nash Gannon Rust, Haley Nicole Blake, Mackenzie Coverdalk, and Jocilynn Marie West).
She is also survived by two brothers, Lawrence Wayne Winburn and John Lesley Winburn, a host of nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Jimmy Cox.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 10:00 am in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
