Janice Marie Burks (Tindle)
June 22nd 1958- November 30th 2018
Janice Marie Burks (Tindle),60, was called to her heavenly home Friday, November 30th after a long battle with cancer. Janice was born June 22nd, 1958 to the union of James and Rachel Tindle in Springfield, MO.
Janice was educated in the Springfield Missouri public school system where she attended Parkview and Central High Schools. She accepted christ at an early age and was baptized at Grand Oaks Baptist Mission Center.
Janice worked most of her life in customer service where her beautiful smile and playful humor captured many hearts. Before being diagnosed with cancer she worked at Christian Healthcare East of Springfield as the activities director. During those five years she gave her heart to the residents she took care of daily. The service she provided to each of them gave her purpose and filled her heart and theirs with happiness. She had a way with words and a silliness about her that would affect anyone who crossed her path. She was a fighter her whole life and showed her strength upto her last moments.
Janice loved her daughter's, her grandchildren and her family very much. She loved to have visitors, especially her daughters and grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Shonna M. Tindle of Lee's Summit MO and Nikki L. Jones of Springfield MO. Four grandchildren, Gavin W. Bingham Jones [13], Tavian M. Greer [11], Miley S. Loveland [7], Mayson N. Coffer [6], step mother Elsie Tindle of Springfield MO, two sisters Martha McGinnis and Dianna Doty both of Springfield MO, one brother Harvey Tindle of Springfield MO, three half sisters Karen Newman of Texas, Sandra Scroggins, Nancy Tindle of Springfield MO, two half brothers Carl Tindle and Neal Tindle of Springfield MO, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother Rachel M. Tindle, father James H. Tindle, four brothers James (Jimmy) Tindle, Billy Tindle, Jackie Tindle, and Bobby Tindle.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that monetary donations to Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
