Jasper (Jay) Andrew Fleetwood, age 65, of Springfield, MO, passed
away Tuesday, May 24,2016 at The University of Chicago Medical
Center, with his family by his side. He was born January 24, 1951, in
Fordland, Mo to Homer and Helen (Speirs) Fleetwood. He was united
in marriage to Verla Mounce on October 2, 1983. He retired from The
United States Army as a Staff Seargent. Jay enjoyed fishing and
traveling, he loved to travel to Florida and go to the beach. His greatest
love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Fleetwood and Helen
Gaines. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Verla Fleetwood,
Springfield, MO; three children, Kelly Harris of Springfield, Bill
Fleetwood of Mountain Grove, and Jessica Jackson and husband Bill of
Mountain Grove; eight grandchildren, Jadyn, Landon, Ashlyn, Rilyn,
Nolan, Kaevin, Eli, and Brady; one sister, Gladys Morehouse and
husband Dave, Springfield; and a host of family and friends.

Graveside services will be at a 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Missouri Veterans
Cemetery, Springfield, MO. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn
Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
