Jeane Gilzow 90, of Springfield, Missouri passed away at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2015, at Cox MICU with a lot of her family with her. She was born August 25, 1924 to Thomas and Annie Moseley of Warren, Arkansas. She was a member of Seminole Baptist Temple, where she visited and stayed in touch with the sick in the hospital and at home in the Faith Bible class. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville on June 9, 1947, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Welfare.
Jeane taught a Sunday School class at several different churches in her early life, played the piano for church services, and assisted in meal preparations for church activities at High Street Baptist Church and as a Group Leader for the Victory Sunday School Class. She served as Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, during the children’s early life.
She is survived by her husband Homer Floyd Gilzow, two sons: Homer Floyd Gilzow Jr. and Richard Dale Gilzow, a daughter Teresa Lynn Seltzer and three grandsons: Paul, Josh and Tim Gilzow and many Great Grandsons and Daughters.
The family would like to thank Cox Hospital for their dedication and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Seminole Baptist Temple. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Seminole Baptist Temple, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. before services at the church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
