Jeanie Diane Friebe finally met her Lord and Savior face-to-face on October 19th, 2021, reuniting with her father Clinton Ross Hart, mother Velma Ruth Wise-Hart, and her brother Billy on her way to her eternal home.
Jeanie was born February 23rd, 1949 in Boaz, Missouri where she farmed alongside her parents; feeding hogs, milking cows, and fending off any dog that dared to mess with her beloved kittens. She attended Clever High School and accepted Jesus Christ in salvation at an early age. A blind date introduced her to Lester Wayne Friebe, who became a very lucky and blessed man on July 26th, 1975 when she said “I do.” That began a 46-year journey in which she never left his side, and he was there along with her in her final moments on this earth.
Not only did Jeanie become a wife, she became a mother to Les’s daughter, Leslie Ann, a request that she accepted with open arms. Two years later, she gave birth to Shane Questin.
Along the way, Jeanie served many roles in life, mostly as a book-keeper and piano player at a number of churches, an auditor for Greene County Bank, and as secretary at the First Baptist Church in Strafford.
The family grew and her blessings multiplied when Leslie Ann married Tony Jennings and Shane wed Jodie. All her children brought joy to her life, but nothing brightened her day more than the addition of her grandchildren; Leslie Ann’s children Abigail and Aaron, and Shane’s daughters Caitlyn and Brooklyn. That family grew yet again when Abbey married Frank Waterman.
Jeanie’s passion in life was her family, but her faith was what guided her every day. She played gospel music on the piano until her fingers couldn’t quite find the keys. She read her Bible nightly until her eyes just couldn’t quite see the pages. She listened to Christian music until her hearing started to fade. She said her prayers until she just couldn’t quite form the words. But all of that changed when she finally saw the splendid sights of Heaven, touched the Father’s hand, and shouted hallelujah. She is finally home now.
Jeanie requested a private family service. In remembrance of Jeanie, the family asks that any donation be made to Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 156 Mt. Sinai Rd, Clever, MO 65631.
