Jerry Preston Williams, 78, born November 5, 1930, went to be with the Lord, June 23, 2009, after a long illness. Preceding in death, father, Preston Williams and mother, Effie Williams. Jerry and Charlene were married July 9, 1953 for 56 years. He was a Life member of the DAV and VFW, helped many veterans with their disability. Survivors include, Charlene Williams; children, J.D. and Doris, Charlotte Sawyer, Deborah and Steven Unger, Robert, Tim and Rena, William and Farrah, Brent; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, all live in Springfield, Mo. Visitation will be Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside service with military honors, Friday 10 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery North.
