Jerry Ray Whitesel, age 73, of Springfield, MO, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 in his home. He was born July 21, 1941, in Miamisburg, OH to Layton and Winnifred Whitesel. He was a member of the Crossway Baptist Church. He was very involved with the CEF ministry. Jerry’s passion was helping children to learn the bible through After School Good News Clubs, Fair Ministries and Sunday School.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Whitesel, his parents and his brother Doug. He is survived by his daughter: Melody Champione Whitesel and two sons: Matthew and Michael (Kelly) Whitesel. Grandchildren: Ryan Whitesel, Sara Whitesel and Danielle Champione. Plus many extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at Crossway Baptist Church on Wednesday February 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with visitation starting at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossway Baptist Church or CEF. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
