Jewell Beatrice Jones, age 91, of Springfield, went home to be with her Savior on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 at Mercy Hospital.
Jewell was born June 17, 1929 in Windyville, MO to Roy and Mamie Jones. Jewell’s grandmother was a Pentecostal preacher, and she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior. She always told her family that she would meet them in Heaven. She was a graduate of Windyville High School. She was united in marriage to John Edward Jones Jr. in Buffalo, MO. Jewell loved playing bingo, traveling, watching country music shows, crocheting, and bird watching. The greatest love of her life was her grandchildren, who she enjoyed spoiling.
Survivors include three children, Larry Jones, Jeff Jones, and wife Christy, and Jennifer Jones; five grandchildren, Shawn Jones, Matt Jones, Jonathan Jones, Austin Jones, Amber Jones; one great-grandson, Connor Jones; one sister, Donna Konopasek, of Wapato, WA; and a host of family and friends
Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Jones Jr.; parents, Roy and Mamie Jones; infant son, Edward Jones; one brother, Earl Jones; one sister, Shirley Steinmark; one daughter-in-law, Kay Jones.
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 12th, 2021 at 1:00 pm in Scrivner Cemetery, Windyville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America in care of the funeral home. Flowers may be sent to Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
