Jimmy Lee Elliff, 80, Springfield, MO. passed away Monday afternoon at Mercy Hospital, after a long illness. Jimmy was born on January 19, 1943, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to Hayes and Lorene (Robinson) Elliff. He was a member of the Watermill Church of Christ, serving as a deacon over finances, since 2001 Jimmy loved his church family and they loved him. He retired as a Financial manager for G.M.A.C. after 35 years and for Tracker Financial after 8 years. He retired from the Mississippi National Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel after 25 years of service to his country. He loved his family, his boxer dogs, fishing and golfing.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Archie Elliff. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Johnnie Elliff, a son and his wife, Lee and Aletha Elliff, four grandchildren: Jordan and husband, Calvin Howard, Jayla and husband Dillon Cox, Jamie White and Brandon White, and three great-grandchildren: Hattie Jo Howard, Mason Smith and Jaiden Vaughn.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. before services at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will be at a later date, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home.
