John D. Wooley
Reverend John D. Wooley Rev. John D. Wooley of Springfield, Mo., passed away peacefully from the loving arms of his family and into the loving arms of his Lord at 12:30p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2009 in Christian Health Care East. He was born December 14, 1921 in Chaffee, Mo., to John H. and Rose Holmes Wooley. He married Mary Wooley on July 2, 1942 who preceded him in death May 3, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Rose and John Wooley; brothers, Bill Wooley, Loran and Harold; sisters, Mildred, Doris and Gladys; and grandchildren, Ray C., John Jones, and Daniel C. Harper. He is survived by his children, Charlotte and Mike Bibens, Shirley and Bill Jones, Patricia and Tom Maxwell, John and Linda Wooley; grandchildren, Steve and Lori Jones, Kim and Brad Moore, Melissa and Greg Slayton, Leesa and Matt Pickering, Lt. Scott Jones and Jennifer, John David Wooley, Amber and Nathan Fritz, Colin Wooley; step-grandchildren, Brandy and Chad Atnip, Julie, Lisa and Sara; great-grandchildren, Sara, Joshua, Caleb, Taylor, Will, Cole, Christopher, Parker and Ashlee. John served in the U.S. Air Force 1942-1946 as a medic. He was a member of Oak Grove Assembly and he dedicated his life in the ministries and gospel music with his loving wife, Mary for over 40 years, blessing many people. He was a compassionate person, loving, friendly and always helping others. Always had a story to share and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. We wish to extend our gratitude and love to the employees of Christian Health Care East for the love and compassion that they gave our parents during their final stages of life’s journey. They also have become very important in our lives and due to this we now have a bigger family. Thank you all very much. Visitation is Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Funeral services are Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 11 a.m., with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens
