Josephine Bussard, age 96, passed away on August 18, 2018 in Mt. Vernon, MO in the Missouri Veterans Home. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey on July 10, 1922 to Bart and Mary (Alesso) Failla. She enlisted into the United States Navy after high school. Jo was a member of Way of the Waves during World War II and there she met the love of her life and married, Murray Bussard whom was in the United States Marine Corp and they enjoyed 73 years of marriage. Jo loved wintering in Florida with Murray, she enjoyed golfing and she was extremely proud of the 4 holes-in-one she had gotten. She was proud of her Italian heritage, she was proud of her family and she and Murray was able to go on the Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C. to visit the war memorials there.
Jo is survived by her husband, Murray, her daughter, Lois, son-in-law, Dennis, grandsons, Shawn and Bart and great-grandson, Jake.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home South with the service following at 12:30 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at 2:00 pm in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
