Judy Geraldine Gleason, daughter of Eugene Blackwell and Roy and Thelma Hopper, was born on August 8, 1941 in Wichita, Kansas and peacefully went to be with Jesus on October 15, 2014 in Marshfield, Missouri.
In 1962, she was blessed to meet and marry the young man who she would spend the rest of her life by his side. Early in the relationship, Virgil was stricken with great love for Judy and they were united in marriage on August 25, 1962.
Judy was a precious lady who loved everyone and wanted to be loved in return. Virgil describes his wife as this, “If everyone loved the way Judy does, their would be no war and hate”.
She spent most of her life as a homemaker and also enjoyed being a caregiver for children. Not able to bear children herself, she answered the calling from God to be a Mommy to a little red-headed baby girl. As we all know, she was so proud of her little Viola and provided so much love and tenderness that words cannot describe.
She celebrated life with such enthusiasm and joy and with every addition to the family her love grew. She looked up to her Son-in-Law, Bob, with such love and respect and she knew he always had her best interest in mind. He says, “she is in God’s hands now as a perfect Angel”!
She was blessed with two grandsons, Robby and Timmy and later two granddaughters who joined the family through marriage. She was also blessed with three great granddaughters, Jordyn, Avery, and Serenity as well as one on the way and more to come. She cherished each and every one of them.
She will be greatly missed by all who love her! Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with visitation one hour prior to services from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
