Kathleen Rosalind (Kelley) Von Willer, 91 years old Springfield, MO

Kathleen Von Willer was a lifelong resident of Springfield, Missouri. Born to Hiland and Helen (Schneider) Kelley, Kathleen was one of eight children and graduated from Strafford High School. After high school, she married and had three children: Helen Kathleen, Theodore Edmond, Jr., and Mary Elaine. She worked at Dayco Rubber Company as an inspector for 25 years until her retirement. She was a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church, an avid reader, and a volunteer. She devoted countless hours to the Stephen Ministries and was passionate about wildlife preservation. She loved all animals, especially dogs of all kinds and the birds that visited her feeders. She was a devoted gardener and tested products for Garden Gate Magazine. Her canned goods – tomatoes, beans, corn – were exceptional as well. A renowned cook and baker, every family member had their favorite dish from chocolate chip cookies to peach cobbler and from deviled eggs to macaroni salad.
Kathleen Von Willer is preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings: Herndon Kelley, Alden Kelley, Norman Kelley, David Kelley, Virginia Drumheiser, and Colleen Belding. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Summer. Kathleen is also survived by her three children, Helen (John) Maxwell, Ted (Susan) Von Willer, and Mary (Paul) Overgaard; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 10 until service time at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Burial will be at Maple Park Cemetery following the services.
