Kathryn (Katie) Elizabeth Armstrong Mayberry arrived on the planet December 22, 1979 and departed on November 20, 2020.
What a huge presence she was! Beautiful, kind, caring, ornery, strong willed, and independent are a few words that would describe her. When she knew what she wanted, nothing could stop her.
In 2011, she discovered she had breast cancer that would eventually become metastatic. She was a champion fighter for MBC and passionate about finding a cure. She endured a long and difficult journey through ongoing treatments.
She was a wonderful mother and her children meant the world to her. She has a great redemption story. She was so strong and courageous, and was a great example of how to conduct one’s life under such heartbreaking circumstances. Everybody who knew her was blessed and many have been personally inspired by her example.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Sean; her three children, Aiden, Rylan and Kylie; her mother, Joanie; stepfather, Lee; father, Steve; stepmother, DeeAnn; sisters: Sara, Elizabeth and Erin; brother, Barry and sister-in-law, Rea; mother-in-law, Debbie; brother-in-law, Ian, and a variety of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves many loving and devoted friends.
Her soul’s journey is headed for new adventures. Her physical presence will be missed but her sparkling essence will live on in the hearts of all her family and friends.
Fly high and free sweet Katie — you’ve earned your wings!
