Kay Francis Kinion who died Monday August 30th, 2021 at his home in Springfield, MO was born in Fairfield, IA on Jan 6th, 1936. He was preceded in death by his sisters Kathleen Kinion and Karen Kinion Niemants and his parents, Keith and Evelyn Kinion. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lillian Kuper Kinion, his sister Karla Kinion Goethe, his six children, Kevin Kinion, Kurtis Kinion, Konnie Kinion Bachelder, Kent Kinion, Keith Kinion and Katey Kinion Julius, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Kay was a graduate of Grundy Center High School and Iowa State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He worked as a farmer and in the agriculture business most of his career having worked for Del Monte, Carnation, ConAgra among others and finally the Missouri Farmers Coop from which he retired in Springfield. Kay enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and woodworking. He liked to travel and camp across the country, particularly at Big Bend National Park. He and Lillian also drove themselves and their camper on an epic trip to Alaska and Canada. Kay was a loving Husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone that knew him.
Visitation will begin Wednesday Sept 1st at GreenLawn Funeral Home South, 413 W. Battlefield Rd, Springfield, MO 65807 from 6 to 8pm. The Funeral Service will be at Immaculate Conception Church on Thursday Sept 2nd at 10:30 am.
Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center, IA on Friday Sept 3rd at 3:00 pm.
