Memorial services for Larry Frank Walton age 78 of Reeds Spring, Missouri will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 13, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson with Fr. Rick Jones officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.
He passed away on May 10, 2016 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri.
He was born on March 23, 1938 in Springfield, Missouri the son of Virgil and Helen Clement Walton. He was a longtime resident of Springfield and retired from General Electric in 1998 where he was an accounts manager. For the past five years he was employed with Bass Pro Shop in Branson in the fishing and camping department. He graduated from Central High School in Springfield in 1956 and attended S.M.S. now MSU before entering the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Sue Helmick whom he met in high school on August 3, 1958 and to this union was born three children. He enjoyed fishing and loved his family and spending time with them.
Survivors are his wife; Jacque Walton of the home. Two children: Christopher Walton and wife Carly of Springfield, Missouri and Susan Michel of Arlington, Texas. One sister, Peggy O’Hare and husband Keith of Blue Eye, Missouri and their family and two granddaughter, Cambelle Seanna Walton and Channing Sailor Walton. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, Patrick Walton and son Larry Michael Walton.
Visitation will be at 9:30 AM prior to service time on Friday.
We have selected Camp Barnabas a camp for disabled children for the memorial in his memory, 901 Teas Trail, Purdy, Mo. 65734. Since Larry, Jacque’ and their children spent many hours on Elk River near Noel, Missouri and on Table Rock Lake fishing, water skiing and boating we want other children to have the opportunity to experience all they are able to enjoy.
