Larry Warren Stonebraker, 73, entered the presence of the Lord peacefully at home
with his wife Pat on Thursday, February 12. He was born February 28, 1947 in Emporia,
KS the son of Warren and Edith (Rains) Stonebraker.
Larry met the love of his life Patricia Stacks of Pueblo, CO in 1968 and they were
married three months later. Soon after they were married, Larry, serving with the
Kansas National Guard and U.S. Army was deployed to Vietnam. Upon returning, he
completed his bachelor’s degree from Emporia State Teachers College. Larry began a
career in education, and ministry executive leadership, serving at Christian schools,
Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College and Baptist Bible College (Springfield). He also
earned a master’s degree from California Graduate School of Theology. Larry and Pat
celebrated their 52nd anniversary in January.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sisters
Sharon van Sickle and Patty Stonebraker, brother Bob Stonebraker; daughter Joli
Rosner and husband Dustin; daughter Darci Horton and husband Matt; daughter
Alyssa Nix and husband Ben; and eight grandchildren Ryli, Cale, Silas, Aven, Grace,
Malachi, Emma, and Olivia.
Larry received Jesus as Lord and Savior at the age of 22 and faithfully served God the
remaining days of his life.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 19 at Cherry Street Baptist
Church, 1201 S. Oak Grove, Springfield, MO 65804. There will be a visitation at 10
a.m. Larry will be buried at Springfield Veterans Cemetery.
