LaVonne Eileen Dierks 92, Springfield, MO. was born October 18, 1927 in rural Linden, Iowa to Walter and Sarah (Adams) Knapp. She passed away January 28, 2020 at the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation, in Lockwood, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Helen Knapp, her husband, Paul Dierks, daughter, Paula Sue Dierks, brothers: Orville Knapp and Walter Jr. Knapp, sister Marjorie Baker and step-sister, Charlotte Wilcox Adams.
Paul and La Vonne farmed near St. Ansgar, IA. and moved to Marshfield, MO. in December of 1966. They retired to Springfield, MO. in 1980. LaVonne was active in Faith Lutheran Church in Springfield, MO.
She is survived by two sons: Gary and his wife Kathy, Mankato, MN. Ed and his wife, Judy, Lockwood, MO. five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two sisters: Elva Pittman and Shirlee Herrold of Des Moines, IA.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening, January 31, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial Donations may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church or to the charity of the doners choice.
