Lillian Luckey was born Lillian Rosenthal on Nov. 7, 1921 in Rock Island, Ill. She was translated to Glory on Mar. 27, 2016 at the age of 94. Mrs. Luckey served 2 years in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. In 1943 she was married to Jim Holland. To this union came one daughter, Patricia. After her husband’s death in 1964, Lillian moved to Springfield, MO to attend Central Bible College. In 1969 she was married to Paul Luckey. They served as pastors in both IA & MO. They retired from full time ministry in 1982 after founding Battlefield Assembly of God Church. Rev. Luckey died in 1984 but Mrs. Luckey continued to work in the Republic A/G church as well as volunteering at Maranatha Village. In 2000 she moved into the Village & was active in the choir & visiting residents until her passing on Easter Sunday,
Mrs. Luckey is survived by her daughter, Patricia Youmans, husband Rex of Warsaw, MO, 3 step children: Raymond Luckey, wife Dora of MA, Charlotte Jenkins of CA, & Paulette Morris, husband Darrell, of West Plains, MO, 1 sister, Violet Fisher of IL, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and MANY nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers & 3 sisters. Mrs. Luckey’s greatest love was Jesus & she constantly shared that love with everyone she met. All who knew her were truly blessed and she will be greatly missed!
Funeral service will be Friday, April 1, 2016, 12:00pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00pm, also at Greenlawn North. Interment will be private.
Ministers for service are Chaplain Darryl Paddock & Rev. Richard Orrell. Singers are the Marie Hamp family.
Memorial contributions can be made to Grace House, Waco, TX – a recovery home run by her granddaughter.
